Abstract

This concept analysis explores the multifaceted concept of "Students' Satisfaction" within nursing education, employing the Walker & Avant methodology, a widely used framework for concept analysis in nursing. This structured approach facilitates a comprehensive examination of the concept, moving beyond dictionary definitions to explore its nuanced meanings and applications. Student satisfaction, a complex and dynamic phenomenon, is crucial for evaluating educational quality and driving improvements in learning outcomes. This analysis defines student satisfaction, distinguishing it from related terms, and identifies its key attributes, including academic performance, learning environment, teaching quality, and faculty support. Model, borderline, and contrary cases illustrate the practical application of the concept. Furthermore, the analysis examines the antecedents of student satisfaction, such as campus facilities, support systems, social life, and teaching/learning evaluations, as well as its consequences, including improved academic performance, self-confidence, and positive institutional reputation. The importance of student satisfaction in reducing attrition and enhancing the quality of healthcare services is emphasized. The analysis identifies Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) as a key empirical referent for measuring and analyzing student satisfaction. By understanding the various factors influencing student satisfaction, nursing educators and administrators can develop targeted strategies to create a more supportive and enriching learning environment, ultimately fostering student success and contributing to the advancement of nursing education. This concept analysis, grounded in the Walker & Avant method, provides a valuable framework for understanding, measuring, and improving student satisfaction in nursing programs.
